Booking an Istanbul Airport Transfer with a Child Seat: What to Confirm
A request for “one child seat” leaves several important questions unanswered. Before booking an Istanbul airport transfer, describe the child's age, height and weight, say whether you will bring your own restraint, and ask which suitable arrangement can actually be supplied. Confirm it with the vehicle and journey details in writing. The purpose of this checklist is to make that conversation precise; it is not a substitute for the seat manufacturer's fitting instructions or professional advice about a child's particular needs.
Describe the child, not just a seat category
Different restraints have different permitted sizes and installation requirements. Check both legs of the journey
If you book arrival and departure transfers, record the child-seat requirement on each confirmation. The child may be using the same restraint, but the date, vehicle assignment and collection point can differ. For a family travelling with two children, describe each child's requirement separately instead of writing “two seats.” If plans change, include the seat requirement in the amendment message so it is not lost when a replacement journey is arranged.
Leave time to check the arrangement before moving
At collection, compare what has been supplied with the written agreement. Follow the restraint manufacturer's instructions for the seat and vehicle combination, and resolve uncertainty before departure.
